Although I am writing this during the pandemic of COVID 19, the principle can be applied to any disease.

[Let me state, here and now, I am NOT saying that we should not see our doctor or go to the hospital. That would be very stupid.]

As Born again, Spirit Filled, Bible Believing Christians, we can claim to have our own ‘private medical assurance’.

That’s right, I said ASSURANCE. No, it is not a “typo” – PRIVATE MEDICAL ASSURANCE.

Every one of us can quote a few (ish) scriptures about healing:

….. by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

Your healing shall spring forth speedily, (Isaiah 58:8)

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in (Psalm 121:8)

Behold, I will bring it health and healing; … (Jeremiah 33:6)

You can add more to this list, and recite them daily, but unless you believe and trust in Jesus, the result will be the same as taking a Placebo tablet

When we are not feeling well, we see our doctor (eventually). They give us a prescription, and we take the medicine.

Unfortunately, medicine just cannot deal with some “problems”.

And as we all know, there are opposites, positives and negatives.

I, personally think that this COVID 19 is one of them. BUT the Medicine for this disease has already been prescribed AND upgraded

The first life threatening ‘disease’ can be found in the book of Exodus – the plagues in/of Egypt.

Let’s look at chapter 12 and verses 12-13

‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. (Exodus 12:12-13)

I hear you saying; “that was against the ‘firstborn’”

Yes, you are correct, but carry on reading – “…and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment:”

Now, I am not saying that God has sent this disease, HE can’t. Because, by HIS very nature HE is a good God.

That said, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Satan was behind this.

God has already told us how we can combat this. – The blood of the lamb.

“… take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat …” (Exodus 12:7)

Before you all rush out and start slaughtering sheep, Let me tell you that it has already been done.

It was completed at Calvary. The shedding of the Blood started a few days before, in the prison, where Jesus was being held and tortured.

And it was completed when Jesus said

“It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. (John 19:30)

When we accepted what Jesus had done for us, thanked HIM, and asked HIM to become our LORD and Saviour; we became ‘Born Again Christians.’

It was at that precise moment we were covered with the Blood of Jesus. Not physically, but Spiritually.

Let me try to explain:

When you were baptised, you were stood there in the pool of water. Then you were immersed, and reappeared. The water was not sprinkled on you. You were immersed in the water.

That was a physical representation of what happened in the Spiritual realm.

Spiritually, the water was replaced with the blood of Jesus, the water was the blood that Jesus spilt and shed for us, in the days leading to, and at Cavalry.

So, we are covered by, and with the Blood of the Lamb. Therefore, unlike the Hebrews, we do not physically have to paint our doorpost with blood

We also have something much more that the Hebrews had in Egypt.

We have added protection, as in The Holy Spirit, because Jesus also told us

“….. for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you”. (John 16:7)

So we have not only the Blood of Jesus, but also the Holy Spirit.

Just think of this as mega amounts of ‘antibiotics’

But seriously, When we accepted Jesus, we were adopted by the Father

having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, (Ephesians 1:5)

Therefore, as we are now adopted, we can claim what Paul said to the Romans

and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. (Romans 8:17)

Paul also told us not to be “of” this world, although we are “in” this world, which does sound confusing, he did tell us how this can be achieved:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

So now we have the Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit, living within us, there is nothing that can be ‘thrown at us’ which will hurt us

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. (1Cor 2:12)

Such as the Armour of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1 John 5:4)

Before I finish, I would like to remind you that:

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 2:7)

And finally, please, please do not disregard the doctors or medical personnel.

These people, even though they may not be believers, yet, God has given then the knowledge and ability to perform that role in life.

And you never know, but the healing that the LORD does on you, may just may someone a believer

O = Over

V = Viruses

I = Infections

D = Diseases

19 = Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

I will leave you with this scripture:

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. (Psalm 46:10-11)
